Housed in a virtual gallery, Trois Fractales uses mathematical formulas to generate realtime fractal-like patterns in a 3D space. Each fractal is set on a pedestal and casts a shadow. The gallery is fully navigable and the artwork is interactive. For future exhibits, the virtual gallery is customizable to an artist’s requirements.
Examples
Mandelbox is a 3D fractal generated inside an invisible cubic frame. As the name suggests, it is based on the Mandelbrot set. This is a closeup of the surface of one cube.
Julia Slice is a 3D slice of the 4D Julia set which creates the cubic space you see on the pedestal. Within that space, the set’s outer edge forms twisting tubes whose cross sections are revealed when it comes in contact with the cubic frame.
